breakfast for sailors

Such lovely memories of a weekend breakfast, which is just enough to get me through a Thursday and Friday.  There's really nothing better than getting to the market early and coming home for a cook-up.  There may not be an abundance of cafe's around here, but our backyard is a pretty nice substitute.

Like my little sailor dress? I snapped it up at a little retro store because you just can't let these chances pass you buy.

I'm looking forward to more weekends at home and backyard breakfasts after a really nice, but somewhat tiring weekend away camping up north (snaps will be in the mix at some stage).

life's a beach

Last weekend we had such a nice day at the beach.  Lots of boats were out on the bay to take advantage of the breeze and everybody was out in the sunshine with a BBQ or fish and chips.  We took Ollie for a long walk and then lay on the grass reading magazines and eating sushi.  This red gingham dress is from a local vintage and retro shop (the ONLY vintage and retro shop), which I sadly found out was closing it's doors.  I take advantage of online shopping as much as anyone, but there's something satisfyingly practical about trying something on before you buy, and not having to cross your fingers and toes in the hope it fits!
